everyone, i appreciate all of your support and kind words regarding the stolen artwork. this is just so upsetting. there is still no news about the whereabouts of my six paintings that were stolen from GR-SF on saturday.

anyone could have taken it, an art lover, a psychopath, a mean kid, anybody. i'm just really hoping for its safe return.

hi, my name is susie ghahremani, my email address is susie @ boygirlparty.com, and i just received word from san francisco that six of my pieces from my show at giant robot right now ("let's share" at gr-sf) have been stolen.

if you know anything about it or can spread the word to help return the pieces to me or the people who have purchased them, please help.

among the pieces stolen was one of my favorite pieces to date, the miniature of a baby chicken.

EDIT
: giant robot sent me this image of all the stolen pieces. please repost as you see necessary (the image file is at: http://www.boygirlparty.com/lj/letssharestolen.jpg)

thank you

please repost this message as much as you can amongst art lovers, people in SF, craigslist, anyone and anywhere you can think of. if you live in the bay area and can hang up fliers, i would appreciate that so much as well, since i don't live in the area to do so myself. i've made a pdf flier here:

thank you thank you thank you.
you're all amazing and sweet and i appreciate all your support.
i've been really upset about this, but it makes me feel much better to have such a great community to fall back on. thank you.

oh no!
I'm posting the image to show my support. even though I doubt they were stolen by someone who then flew to New Zealand

thanks so much - thankfully the internet is without borders, so the more reposting, the more likely it is to get back to the person who stole it. i hope.

i truly believe the internet is teeny, teeny tiny and that this will have a happy ending. i sure hope so, susie :)

I just can't imagine how Giant Robot - San Francisco could have allowed this to happen. This is awful!

i don't know how it happened, but they feel really badly about it - that doesn't bring the work back, but i know they would never let something like this happen on purpose, and they're reimbursing the people who had purchased the paintings very fairly.

once it stops storming outside ill flyer around the mission. hopefully tommorrow. its all about visibility! we will spread the word!!!

what should one do if they spot them - call gr or the police? have GR reported to the police?

gr have reported it to the police - calling the police is probably best if it's spotted being sold somewhere else. if it's in the posession of someone you know, just have them send the work back to GR. i don't want anyone going to jail or anything, i just want the work back. thank you so so much.

Hi, just passing through (friend of a friend).

I sent an e-mail to the San Francisco Chronicle's Culture Blog and to Matt Petty, since he mentioned the GR show in November, so hopefully he'll get the word out there as well.

Best wishes for everything's safe return!

i love your work (i'm a friend of Jenny's ([info]frecklewonder) which was how i found you).
I was actually on the GR website today looking up their hours/address and saw their post. I can't tell you
how horrible this is....I'm going to post your flier (i'm an SF girlie) and do my best to spread the word.
san francisco is such a supportive community, we'll get to the bottom of this!!

*hugs from rainy california*

[info]pablowapsi posted this in his journal so I posted it in mine. those are lovely paintings and it's a real shame someone would do such a thing. I hope they're recovered safely.

I am in San Francisco and hope that it will be returned. I came across your site (wonderful!) from the posting that was done on the Culture Blog so it is high profile enough. Someone who thought they were cute must be feeling guilty around now. I hope they return soon!

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I heard about it on Raina's LJ, but wanted to say I was sorry about it. The baby chicken one is truly the cutest thing I've ever seen...if you ever paint another one, I'd love to buy it from you!
