you're entering a world of

it's my birthday tomorrow! all my plans involve spending time outdoors, so of course, it's suddenly raining in san diego (which is 99.9999% of the time beautiful and sunny) i need a contingency plan, but i swear, the only thing i ever think of when plans fall through is mini golf.
i haven't gone mini golfing in years, but it's all i can think of.

not much else to report. working, taking a lot of photos, added a TON of new t-shirts to the webshop, and reading "moby dick" for the first time which is surprisingly accessible and fantastic. i don't know why i suspected it would be written in impossible ye-olde-english code or something, but it's captivating, profound and at times quite funny.

anyhow, so that's what's up with me.
here's to my last day of being 28

Happy almost birthday! I've heard from reliable sources that 29 is a great age to be, much better than 28. I'm only 11 days in, but so far it's looking good. I hope it's great for you, too!

Happy birthday, young lady!

Oh, I'm finally leaving Providence, tomorrow! It's just three months, but a start - first time I've lived out of here in ten years. I did need that and I need to leave now too. It's a Belgian village, where my boyfriend lives, and it's exciting.

Yeah, Moby Dick is great, I had similar qualms and reaction. Laughing out loud was unexpected. The whole book is read out loud every year at the New Bedford Whaling museum. I went there once with a friend for the first nine hours or so...it was free to get in and they had a whole spread in another room, with biscuits, chowder and grog. We did literally run around the streets partway through but it was fun, and I have some drawings of a whale skeleton and the hippyish descendant of Melville somewhere.
