well hello, podcast

  • Jun. 9th, 2009 at 12:40 PM
new podcast for you: please enjoy! It's songs I've been listening to these days as I work. So i titled it "These Days" (even though the awesome Nico song of the same name doesn't appear on it. Maybe next time...)

fall colors

  • Oct. 23rd, 2006 at 9:42 PM
today, a new podcast!

it's called "fall colors", mostly because these last couple weeks, all i've been doing is painting with fall colors and wishing i was seeing them - we don't really get fall here in southern california and i really miss it. as i was tell [info]kamping on the phone yesterday, everytime i see a tree (rarely) that has some falling leaves, i shuffle around happily in the few on the sidewalk and try to remind myself of what autumn is like. and these songs remind me of falltime. nevermind that the first one is totally about winter.

the painting above is one of my recents for the show on november 11th. yes, i am going to keep mentioning it because it is all i think about.
today i threw down a thousand dollars on picture frames.
apparently presentation is more important to me than breaking even, i didn't even know that about myself.

enjoy ye olde podcast!

p.s. the forthcoming shins record sucks.

third time's the charm

another podcast today! it's titled "third time's the charm" because hopefully i've worked out all the technical kinks at this point. anyone having trouble subscribing?

the bunky and laura veirs songs are especially awesome, in my opinion, but maybe because they're newest to me.

yesterday i got a "warning" in the mail from rhode island for an unpaid parking ticket from over three years ago; i swear to god, i was sitting in my studio thinking about how i'm actually starting to miss providence, and then the mail arrived at that exact second and reminded me that no, i don't. how did they even find me? why can't i be named, like, john p. smith?

another day

you guys rule. special thanks to erin who decoded podcast feeds for me. now you can subscribe!

this is the address for all my podcast feeds, past and future: feed://www.boygirlparty.com/podcast/boygirlparty_podcast.xml

so, you can open itunes and subscribe to that address + my mixes will automatically update for you (if you have itunes) along with the playlist, etc.etc.

wow, technology is a little fun. what a distraction.

today: music from my studio

download it! (about 30 min long, mp3) (or click if you have itunes)

as some of you know, i have a solo art show at giant robot next month, so i've pretty much been doing nothing but painting and queueing music to listen to, hence why i made this podcast (cause, yes, it makes so much sense to take up a new hobby when you're most busy.) which song is your favorite?

one more question:
i know i've asked before, but where are your favorite places to get art supplies? i'm really frustrated with the art stores in san diego and the lack of selection therein. i think i need to make monthly trips to l.a. just to buy the things i need. for the first time, i really miss providence.

the other day, i was looking for art stores and saw graffiti by the highway that read "i love tv". then parked outside the art store i was going to was a van that said "the fart mobile".. what is up with this place?

the "i am dumb" version of a podcast

  • Sep. 29th, 2006 at 2:08 PM
ok, i must just be dumb. i tried to figure out how to make a podcast, but all i could do - even with the advice i got in the last post - was figure out how to make a 30 minute long mp3. and even then i struggled, because i couldn't make the mp3 any longer. and i don't know how to publish it as a "podcast", so basically, here's a really long mp3 and a corresponding tracklist of half of the mix i made to commemorate the end of the summer as i work my butt off painting.

enjoy!

p.s. if anyone knows:
a) how to turn this into a podcast feed
b) how to make a podcast some easier way
c) how to make me not dumb
d) the way to san jose

rsvp

p.p.s. i always thought it strange when people say "please r.s.v.p." as the "s.v.p." means "please".
